When the year started off, no one expected the direction that Becky Lynch would end the year at. She started the year off in a non-important role as usual, but she began to get a slow and steady push. She was winning match after match and started to get some major momentum behind her. She found herself back contending for the SmackDown Women’s title, but as was the story of her career, Charlotte interjected stole her thunder and won the title instead.
This led Becky Lynch to snap and turn on her. While it was clearly intended as a heel turn, it managed to make her the most popular star on the entire roster, male or female. She would win the SmackDown Women’s title a month later and her rise to the top would continue. She was supposed to face Ronda Rousey at Survivor Series but got injured and was pulled out. Either way, the year ended strong for Becky Lynch despite losing her title to Asuka, and it looks like there are huge plans for her in 2019.
