George Miller teased it, the fans quickly demanded it and now, thanks to the High Octane Collection, Mad Max: Fury Road will finally get its long-rumored Blu-ray cut.
That’s according to a listing by Amazon Germany – as relayed by Empire – confirming that said bundle will include Fury Road Black and Chrome, a “surreal black-and-white version of Fury Road” that clocks in at the same length (120 minutes) as its theatrical brethren.
Comprising all four mainline Mad Max movies with hours upon hours of bonus material to boot, the High Octane Collection looks set to be the definitive version of George Miller’s post-apocalyptic franchise, and fans will be able to enjoy Max’s defining journey as the Road Warrior all the way Beyond Thunderdome across a total of six Blu-ray discs.
First released in 2015, Mad Max: Fury Road scooped a handful of Oscar for its eye-popping cinematography and stuntwork. It also marked the changing of the guard with Tom Hardy supplanting Mel Gibson in the title role. Though a huge box office haul may have eluded the action-thriller, there has been mooted talk of George Miller firing up work on a sequel and, potentially, a spinoff movie focusing on Charlize Theron’s Furiosa.
What a lovely day! Now that Mad Max: Fury Road‘s black-and-white cut has been confirmed, all we need is an official release timeline before basking in the monochrome version of George Miller’s blistering tour-de-force.
